Aaron Davies (15)

Aaron Davies potentially has a big future in the sport ahead of him. A winner of several major junior titles, he has comfortably made the transition into the senior ranks and is already knocking on the door for honours on the top level.

A former English under-18 champion, Davies enjoyed a remarkable 2015, completing a treble of junior title accolades. He defeated Jordan Sinnott 7-5 in Malta for the European Championship, Nathan Ellis 8-4 in England for the World Championship and Kieran Lennon 5-0 in Scotland for the Nations Cup.

Going up an age category the following year, Davies reached the final of the under-23 world championship and then won a ‘full’ national title in 2018 with the English Grand Prix. In the same year he made the semi-finals of the prestigious World Masters.

Davies has pretty much been an England team regular at youth and then senior levels for the past decade. He has been an integral part of these outfits and claimed World and European Team Championship gold in both categories.

Before the coronavirus pandemic brought the sport to a sudden halt in 2020, Davies was on a fine run of form which began with a runner-up spot at the ultra-competitive Staffordshire Open.

A few weeks later – despite the event being played to a ruleset that wasn’t his specialty – Davies reached the final of the World Championship in Bradford as an unseeded contestant. The Manchester star eliminated several big names on route, only being denied by Jon McAllister 4-2 in sets in the final.

Cool and calculating, the mathematics graduate is set to feature at the business end of significant tournaments for many years to come and has already proved he can mix it with the world's best in Ultimate Pool events.

Davies won two round robin groups to reach the semi-finals of the organisation's first tournament - the Champions League - before bowing out via a 6-reds shootout to eventual champion Chris Melling.

On the Pro Series, Davies has been very consistent. His four quarter-final finishes helped him earn a place in the end-of-season top 16 rankings, meaning he will be a seed for all ranking events in 2022.

Away from the 7×4 table Davies is also a very accomplished English Billiards player having won the under-21 national championship on four consecutive occasions.
