Shaun Storry (2)

Shaun Storry won the biggest title of his career to date when he secured Event 5 on the 2021 Ultimate Pool Professional Series.

On his way to pocketing the £10,000 top prize in front of the live television cameras, Storry ended the 14-match winning streak of Shane Thompson in round one before eliminating Brian Halcrow, Rob Wharne, Dejan Grech and then former world champion Carl Morris 9-2 in the final.

Storry became the first player on the Series to reach consecutive ‘big money’ finals in Event 7, although his bid for back-to-back titles was thwarted by Gareth Potts.

A memorable campaign which also saw him make the semi-finals of Event 6, Storry finished the 2021 season as the number two ranked professional.

On his Ultimate Pool debut Storry won a group during phase one of the Champions League and alongside close friend Chris Day, he triumphed in Group 14 of the Eative Pairs Cup - the dup eventually finished joint ninth overall. Storry also made the latter stages of the 2022 Professional Grand Slam, reaching the semi-finals.

Storry has built a serious reputation as one of 8-ball pool’s toughest nuts to crack after making a successful transition from 9-ball in recent years.

In 2017, as a pre-tournament 33/1 shot, Storry won the 2017 Bulldog Security Challenge in which he defeated world championship finalist Simon Fitzsimmons in the semi-finals before denying Jez Graham in the title match. In the same year he made the final of the English National Amateur Singles.

Moving up another level whilst playing on the ultra-competitive Supreme Pool Series in 2018, Storry eliminated world champions Gareth Hibbott and Michael Hill on his way to reaching the final of event four’s K8.com Classic. His run was ended by winner Scott Gillespie, but his results were further evidence of his rapid progress in the sport.

Another significant accolade arrived in 2019 when he claimed the Isle of Man Amateur title, gaining some revenge on Gillespie by defeating him in the last four before another impressive victory over Jordan Church in the final.

In 2021, during the same opening World Rules Pool Tour weekend of the year, Storry reached the finals of both the Main Tour and Jason Owen Open events.
